Those of you that have read my last few posts have probably come to realize that I love football. And in my world, food and football go together, for tailgate parties or game day parties at home. Over the last few weeks, I rounded up and shared some great dip and crock pot recipes for you to try at your own tailgate or game day party, and I hope you’ve had the chance to test some of those recipes out.
But I did hear from a few of you, sharing your concern that most of those recipes are pretty heavy in the calorie department, and that you are looking for something that would be a little more diet friendly. So today’s post is all about the lighter side of a game day party. Because you really can enjoy great food during your game, without packing on extra weight by the time the season is over.
So hit the grocery store, put your team colors on, and get cooking one of these:
Skinny Artichoke Dip from SkinnyTaste
Mediterranean Chicken Wraps from Better Homes and Gardens
100 Calorie Pizza from Snack Girl
Turkey Chili from Eat Yourself Skinny
Buffalo Hummus from eclectic recipes
Honey Porter Glazed Chicken Skewers from TheBeeroness
Hot and Skinny Spinach Dip from Two Foodies and a Pup
Cajun White Bean Dip from foodgawker
Skinny Mini Lasagna Cups from The Fit Housewife
Grilled Jalapeno Poppers from The Realistic Nutritionist
It’s a tough call on what to try first, but here’s a hint … I’ll be noshing on the Buffalo Hummus and Cajun White Bean Dip while I’m cheering on the Green and Gold this weekend.
