Hello everyone!

I hope all of you moms out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day.  I know some of you were celebrating by doing what you love to do most … watching your kids play in a soccer or baseball tournament, or maybe watching one of the hockey or basketball playoff games that was on TV on Sunday.

I got to celebrate a day early.  My youngest son came home for the weekend to attend the Army Commissioning of some friends and fraternity brothers at his Alma mater, so I was lucky enough to have dinner with him on Saturday night.

On Sunday, I spent the day doing one of my favorite activities.  I just relaxed and enjoyed some quiet reading time outside on my deck (and finally got to start reading Game of Thrones, book 4).

Have you been watching any of the exciting action in the NBA and NHL playoffs this week?  There have been some great games, and I hope that you’ve been able to catch a few.

For the blog this week, I’m glad to be back with even more workplace style ideas to boost your team spirit for the remaining playoff games.

In hockey, there are 7 teams still competing in the second round:

The Tampa Bay Lightning eliminated the New York Islanders and will be moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Lightning will be playing the winner of the series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals.  The Penguins lead 3 games to 2, with game 6 coming up tonight (May 10th).

In the Western Conference, the Dallas Stars beat the St Louis Blues last night to even up the series at 3 games each, forcing game 7 tomorrow night (May 11th).

Finally, the Nashville Predators beat the San Jose Sharks last night to even up their series at 3 games apiece and to force game 7 on May 12th.

Over in the NBA, there are also 7 teams remaining in the Conference Semi-Finals:

The Cleveland Cavaliers won 4 straight games to take the series from the Atlanta Hawks, and are moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Cavaliers await the winner of the series between the Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat.  The series is tied up at 2 games each.

In the Western Conference of the NBA, the Golden State Warriors lead the Portland Trailblazers 3 games to 1.

The San Antonio Spurs are tied 2-2 with the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Game 5 is tonight!

Did you know you could wear your favorite team colors in so many different ways, and still look like a professional when you show up for work?

There are still a few more weeks of hockey and basketball playoffs, and then I’ll be moving on to some new wardrobe ideas for baseball team colors and soccer team colors.

Please share the blog with any friends who are sports fans and love fashion.  I’d love to get some input from more people on how they are showing their team spirit at work!

See you next week.

Carrie
