Hello sports fans!

I hope everyone got to enjoy some of the long Memorial Day weekend, and took at least a moment to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice.  The land of the free, because of the brave, as the saying goes, is the reason we have this holiday in the first place.

Memorial Day weekend was exciting for NCAA Lacrosse and UNC TarHeels fans!  The women’s team got things started by winning the National Title on Sunday.  Then on Monday, the unranked men’s team won an OT game over the #1 ranked Maryland team, for their National Title!  What a thriller!

Memorial Day was also a pretty exciting day if you are a hockey or basketball fan.  The finals of the Stanley Cup Playoffs got started, with the Penguins beating the Sharks in game 1 of the series.   In the NBA Western Conference series, the Warriors came back from being down 3 games to 1 to win their 3rd in a row over the Thunder and move on to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the finals.

It’s a short work week, and I’ve got some catching up to do from the long weekend, so I decided to keep this a pretty short post.  I’m just going to share some fashion look ideas for the 4 teams left in the playoffs (2 in the NHL and 2 in the NBA).  You’ve seen a few of these career style looks before, but I did add a few new ones for a more casual or game day style.

In the NHL, we are down to the Pittsburgh Penguins and the San Jose Sharks.

The Penguins have won the Stanley cup 3 times before, during the 1990-91, 1991-92 and 2008-09 seasons.  Like the other professional teams in Pittsburgh, their team colors are Black and Gold:

The Sharks are making their first Stanley Cup finals appearance.  Their team colors are Pacific Teal and Black, with a little Orange showing up now and then:

The 2 teams remaining in the NBA are the Cleveland Cavaliers and the   Golden State Warriors.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been to the NBA Finals twice, losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the 2006-07 season, and the Golden State Warriors in the 2014-15 season.  The Cavaliers team colors are Wine and Gold:

The Golden State Warriors have won the NBA Finals 3 times, during the 1955-56, 1974-75 and 2014-15 seasons.  Their team colors are Royal Blue and Gold:

I hope I gave you some ideas, whether you are proudly wearing your team colors at the office, at the game or out for coffee.

Are you following the NHL or NBA finals?  If so, which teams are you cheering for?   I’d love to hear from you!

See you next week.

Carrie
