This past week has been a great one for sports fans! I enjoyed the finals of the Euro 2016 Championships, watching the underdog Portugal team beat host country France, despite losing their star player to an injury early in the game.

And the Olympic trials for both Gymnastics and Track and Field got me more excited for the Rio Games than ever! Just 3 weeks until the summer games get underway, and I can’t wait.

Have any of you ever been to the Olympics? I was fortunate enough to be living in the Atlanta area during the 1996 games, and our family took advantage of the opportunity to catch some basketball and baseball. I’ll never forget watching the finals for Baseball, seeing the teams take the field, and hearing the national anthems played for the Bronze, Silver and Gold medal winners. It still gives me goose bumps!

Most of us aren’t lucky enough to attend the games in person, but still want to support our favorite counties and show the world our team spirit. So I’ve put together some ideas for wearing the colors of your favorite country’s national flag, in easy summer style.

Let’s start with color combinations that aren’t so common, and work our way up to the most common colors for national flags:

Just 3 countries have a flag in Red, Yellow and Black: Angola, Belgium or Germany:

National Flag Colors - Red Yellow Black

Only 4 countries participating in the games have a flag of Blue and Yellow: Kazakhstan, Palau, Sweden and Ukraine:

National Flag Colors - Blue Yellow

5 countries in the games have a flag in Red and Yellow: People’s Republic of China, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Spain and Vietnam:

National Flag Colors - Red Yellow

9 countries participate in the games under a Red, Green and Yellow flag: Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Grenada, Guinea, Lithuania, Mali and Senegal:

There are also 9 countries with a flag in Red, Blue and Yellow: Andorra, Chad, Colombia, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Moldova, Mongolia and Romania:

There are 11 countries participating under a Blue and White flag: Argentina, El Salvador, Finland, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Federated States of Micronesia, Nicaragua, San Marino and Somalia:

National Flag Colors - Blue White

12 countries will use their Red, Green and White flag during the games: Algeria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Burundi, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Lebanon, Madagascar, Maldives, Mexico and Oman:

18 countries participate in the games under a flag in Red and White: Austria, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, Georgia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Latvia, Malta, Monaco, Peru, Poland, Singapore, Switzerland, Tonga, Tunisia and Turkey:

And the most popular color combination for a National Flag? 35 countries have a flag in Blue, White and Red! American Samoa, Australia, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cambodia, Chile, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Iceland, North Korea, Laos, Liberia, Luxembourg, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Russia, Samoa, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Thailand and the United States!

And here’s a bonus style for those that support more than 1 country, or just love the spirit of the Olympic Games. You’ll be ready when dressed in the 5 colors of the Olympic rings: Blue, Yellow, Black, Green, and Red:
